The Barren Ridge Renewable Transmission Project competed with 60 other entries and won ENR California’s Excellence in Safety Award. Representatives from Barnard’ Project Team attended the ENR awards presentation on Oct. 11 in Los Angeles.

Barnard Construction Company wins Associated General Contractors of America's Build America Grand Award and Merit Award for Partnering Excellence, the AGC announced at its annual awards ceremony in San Antonio, Texas. Barnard-D.A. Collins JV also won Best Project in the Utility Infrastructure Renovation category for the Gilboa Dam Rehabilitation Project.

Utility Contractor magazine featured the L-402 Hydrotest Program Barnard Pipeline completed for Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E). The Program was named the Top Oil and Gas Pipeline Job in NUCA's annual Top Jobs competition.

On Oct. 8, the Silicon Valley Clean Water (SVCW) Commission awarded Barnard, joint venture partner, Bessac, and Design Engineer, ARUP, an $8 million design-build contract to advance the design of a gravity pipeline in Redwood City, California. The pipeline, currently at the 10 percent design stage, will be constructed by tunneling methods and will improve the wastewater conveyance system that eventually discharges into the San Francisco Bay.

Barnard's Chilhowee Dam North Embankment Remediation Project was selected by a jury of peers in the Utility Infrastructure Renovation category.
Barnard took top honors in the Utility Infrastructure category at the AGC's annual Construction Safety Excellence Awards (CSEA) for two consecutive years. The CSEA is the industry's elite safety excellence awards program that recognizes companies that have developed and implemented premier safety and loss prevention programs.
The Emergency and Carryover Storage Project, a program that includes our San Vicente Preparatory Work Project, earned the USSD's top award for completed work in 2016. Our Elwha and Glines Canyon Dam Removal Project and our Snoqualmie Falls Hydroelectric Redevelopment Project also earned this award in 2015 and 2014, respectively.
Barnard's Blue Lake Expansion Project took top industry honors in 2016 as well as best in its category, also receiving a Merit Award in Partnering Excellence.
The Barren Ridge Renewable Transmission Project we constructed for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power earned Best Project, Southern California in ENR California’s Energy/Industrial category. The project also received ENR California's Excellence in Safety Best Project award.
Barnard's Gilboa Dam Reconstruction Project, constructed in a joint venture with D.A. Collins Construction, earned best project in the Utility Infrastructure Renovation category.
Barnard shares 2016 honors with Blue Lake Expansion Project stakeholders in receiving a Marvin M. Black Partnering Excellence Merit Award. Barnard is also a four-time recipient of the national AGC Marvin M. Black Excellence in Partnering Award.
The National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) named Barnard and honorable mention and overall winner in 2016 and 2015, respectively, for safe work practices in the 500,001 – 1,000,000 man-hour category.
Currently a member of Pacific Gas and Electric Company's (PG&E's) Gas Transmission Construction Alliance, Barnard was selected from among more than 4,000 PG&E suppliers for this Supplier of the Year honor, also receiving PG&E's Gas Supplier of the Year Award.
The Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce Economic Awards are presented to those individuals and corporations who have contributed to the economic growth and development of the African American Community.
