Health Plan and Insurance

Barnard bears the full cost of our employees’ healthcare premium, including eligible dependents. Life insurance and disability insurance coverage begin on an employee’s date of hire.

Retirement Plan

A profit-sharing plan, including a 401(k) savings plan, is offered after one year of service and 1,000 hours of work. The contribution to this plan is determined by company performance that year. In addition, Barnard offers a generous match to the 401(k) savings plan.

Vacation and Holidays*

Personal time off accrues according to an employee’s years of service. New hires begin with two weeks of vacation each calendar year. Barnard observes a minimum of six holidays plus the day after Thanksgiving.

Bonuses and Salary Increases

All salaried employees are reviewed annually. Bonuses and salary increases are considered based on employee and company performance.

Allowances and Reimbursements

Barnard pays the following allowances to salaried employees working at our project sites:

Per diem allowance: Paid weekly when working at projects located away from Barnard’s Home Office.

Vehicle reimbursement: Barnard offers employees the use of a company vehicle or reimburses the employee for the use of his or her own vehicle. This is offered to employees on a jobsite and at the Home Office.
