To increase natural gas flow through the Nova Gas Transmission Ltd. (NGTL) System, Barnard helped construct new pipeline into existing valve sites south of Grande Prairie as part of TC Energy’s 2021 NGTL System Expansion Program.

Barnard was involved in two sections of newly constructed pipeline located on Crown land in the municipal district of Greenview and Yellowhead counties. The two sections required the installation of 3 km 48-in. outside-diameter pipeline from south to north in wet muskeg conditions and approximately 9 kms of pipe addition along an adjacent spread. These two components of the 2021 NGTL System Expansion Program were substantially completed and placed into service in early 2023. Remaining work activities are anticipated to reach final completion by October 2023 as Barnard finishes machine and final cleanup of the entire 40 km of pipeline right-of way along these two pipeline sections.
