As Barnard’s Corporate Safety Director, Garris develops and provides technical and administrative direction on all safety and health policies and programs for Barnard, including developing and implementing safety training programs for all employees. Since joining Barnard in 2015, Garris has supervised site safety on pipeline, dam, and other heavy civil projects. He has worked in both the United States and Canada, on joint venture projects, and in remote locations. Over the years, he’s helped coordinate Barnard’s annual safety summit, contributed to safety and health policies, and developed and implemented safety training programs. Most recently, he managed the safety program at the Chimney Hollow Reservoir Project. Garris holds a B.S. in Occupational Safety and Health from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and is a Certified Safety Professional and Construction Health and Safety Technician.
