Risk Management Director
As Barnard’s Risk Management Director, Debbie Jackson is responsible for the Company’s global insurance and surety programs. She works closely with our Senior Management, Operations Managers, Legal Department, and other internal departments to identify and evaluate corporate and project risks, select appropriate combinations of risk retention and risk transfer techniques, and establish the overall insurance program structure. She is involved with our project teams during proposal stages, award, execution of project work, and through closure of contracts and claims.
Debbie joined Barnard in 2020 after working as the GBU Risk Manager for Bechtel Corporation in their Oil, Gas & Chemicals division in Houston, Texas. While at Bechtel, she held various positions within the Risk Management Department, including Project Risk Manager on a four-year assignment in Queensland, Australia, where she provided risk management support on four liquefied natural gas projects totaling over $50 billion. Prior to Bechtel, she worked as the Risk Manager for Granite Construction in Watsonville, California, and ICF Kaiser Engineers in Fairfax, Virginia. She earned a B.S. in Accounting from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
