Mike Hanley
Tunnel Superintendent

Experience: Mike brings to the Barnard Companies nearly 40 years of tunneling experience, beginning with a wastewater tunnel in Austin, Texas, for Peter Kiewit Sons’, Inc. He has worked throughout the U.S. and abroad in the areas of drill and shoot tunneling, grouting, concrete form work, concrete placing, EPBM and hard rock tunnel boring machines, microtunneling, and Roadheader excavation.

Jeff Benger
Corporate Pilot, Barnard Aviation

Education: Jeff earned a B.S. in Mathematics from Hiram Scott College in Nebraska before joining the U.S. Air Force.

Experience: Jeff Benger has more than 21,000 flight hours in over 100 different aircraft types. He learned to fly in high school, paid for college with money earned through flight instruction, flying charters, and spraying crops. He trained on the F-4 Phantom in the U.S. Air Force and then flew briefly for Frontier Airlines. He has spent the last 24 years flying for corporations both nationally and internationally.

Stephan Robinson
Corporate Pilot, Barnard Aviation

Education: Stephan earned a B.S. in Aeronautics from the University of North Dakota, while at the same time attaining his instrument rating, commercial single and multi-engine license, and his instructor certificate for single-engine, instrument, and multi-engine airplanes.

Experience: Stephan Robinson has more than 20 years of flying experience through a broad range of aviation aspects, from becoming a certified hang glider pilot, to earning his private pilot’s license in gliders, to attaining his instrument through multi-engine instructor ratings. He has worked for two airlines and two corporate flight departments. He is a flight instructor in a number of aircraft, including: single-engine, multi-engine, seaplanes, aerobatics, tailwheel, and gliders.

Wanda Newman
Receptionist/Administrative Assistant

Ms. Newman brings to Barnard a variety of experience, from a tour in the U.S. Navy, to administration and graphic design, real estate sales, and data collection for Cornell University. She initially joined Barnard at our Lake Mead Intake No. 2 Project in Nevada, transferring to Bozeman upon project completion.
