Ranked consistently among the nation’s top three dam construction contractors in the U.S., we specialize in challenging dam and reservoir projects. Our recent construction of the Saluda Backup Dam in South Carolina was the largest ongoing dam construction project in the country for three years running. The project won three prestigious industry awards. In Florida, we recently embarked on construction of the EAA A-1 Reservoir, which will hold roughly 190,000 acre feet of water within its nearly 20-mile embankment. We are also busy constructing a second above-ground reservoir for a South Florida water supply authority. In Oregon, we completed an emergency dam repair in record time and under budget, for which the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recognized Barnard with its 2006 Northwestern Region Contractor of the Year award. And, in Nevada, we recently reconstructed an earthen dam for the Walker River Paiute Tribe and the Bureau of Reclamation.
These projects, and many more that we have performed in the dam and reservoir field, have required our work in:
- New dam construction
- Seismic rehabilitation
- Existing dam rehabilitation
- Emergency dam repair
- Roller-compacted concrete (RCC) placement
- Earthen dam construction
- Slurry wall construction
- Geomembrane installation
- Conventional concrete construction
- Dike construction and repair
