This fast-track project included installation of high-pressure, natural gas pipeline through high elevation terrain in areas that routinely receive 4 to 8 feet of snow during the winter months. Specialized snow removal equipment was used. Average daily temperatures ranged from -20 to +40 degrees Fahrenheit during the construction period. This project included: 3.7 miles of 20-inch pipe; 5.5 miles of 16-inch pipe; 2.6 miles of 10-inch pipe; and 3500 LF of 3-inch pipe. The HDD work crossed under the West Fork of Parachute Creek. Most challenging was completing by March 1 all work designated for the raptor breeding areas. Precautions such as snow removal and heating equipment during non-working hours were used to maintain the schedule. Work was suspended in April 2009 and then completed in August-October 2009.
