Barnard Pipeline completed the fast-track installation of seven miles of 30-inch natural gas pipeline outside of Gillette, Wyoming, in the midst of winter when temperatures were hovering between -25 and +20 degrees Fahrenheit. Blowing snow and deep ground frost were added challenges to complete the work. The initial phase of the project employed nearly 190 craft personnel. Upon completion of the pipeline installation, Barnard was asked to continue testing and restoration of the entire 23-mile spread. Hydrostatic testing was successfully completed in February when temperatures were frequently below 0 degrees F. A second portion, entered into in February 2008, involved installing high- and low-pressure pipelines for coal seam methane transmission across remote locations south of Gillette, including multiple river crossings. Work was completed in May 2008.
