Project Highlights

This project was completed in two phases.

Phase I: Raised three dikes 10 feet

  • 110,000 CY zoned fill
  • Constructed 6,200 CY roller-compacted concrete spillway

  • Relocated two public roads

Phase II: Raised dam 10 feet

  • 200,000 CY zoned fill
  • Constructed cofferdam
  • Installed new toe drains
  • Demoolished and reconstructed outlet works
  • Constructed outlet works canal
  • Placed 49,000 CY riprap on face of dam and dikes
  • Production of 27,000 CY riprap
  • Vertical chimney filter (sand)
  • Shielded trencher required for toe drain construction
  • Foundation dewatering
  • Jet eductor dewatering system
  • New roller-compacted concrete (RCC) spillway

Project Details

The Many Farms Dam Project involved repairing the main dam and three saddle dikes with filter systems and new impervious embankment. A new roller-compacted concrete emergency spillway along with outlet works also was part of this project. The remote site required extensive scheduling in order to meet milestone requirements and material deliveries. The project was completed on schedule.
