Barnard's part in the West Leg Water Transmission Pipelines Project involved laying roughly 15 miles of pipe along or under busy Scottsdale, Arizona, streets. The project, which provides the delivery of potable water, required setting the pipes in very deep trenches, sometimes as deep as 30 feet. In some of the trenches, Barnard installed up to five additional pipelines. The job entailed working through a major power corridor with high voltage overhead lines. The steel pipe, varying in size from 30 inches to 42 inches, was placed during the hot months of spring and summer.

“Beyond their high capabilities as a general contractor, what has impressed me most about Barnard is their trademark ability to form a cohesive team with the Owner and Engineer and their ability to find solutions to the problems that arise in construction.” - Chuck Hill, Construction Coordinator, City of Scottsdale, Arizona |
